Step 1 of 6 · Rules

Two requirements, set once and linked to your rooms

You can switch on government ID verification, e-signed documents, or both, per property. They are reusable templates that you link to rooms, and each booking then gets its own steps for the guest to work through. A whole portfolio can be set up in one go at the group level.

Documents are whatever PDF you supply: a rental agreement, house rules, a waiver. There is no fixed list.

Step 2 of 6 · Channels

The same requirement can be different on every channel

Every requirement lists the booking channels it applies to, plus an Any Other catch-all. Ask for ID and an agreement on direct bookings and skip them on Airbnb, where the platform already verifies guests. One setup, no duplicates and no manual exceptions.

Under the hood

Channel names are normalized before matching, so booking.com and booking_com, or homeaway and home_away, land on the same rule instead of silently missing it.

Step 3 of 6 · ID

The guest verifies on a hosted page, and you keep the last word

The guest gets a link and captures the front and back of their ID plus a selfie. Verification happens at our partner, Autohost, which returns a risk assessment. In the stricter flow, a result flagged red or orange stays incomplete and the guest sees why.

Under the hood

Results come in by webhook and by an explicit check, so a missed webhook does not strand the guest. You can open the ID images in your dashboard, issue a fresh attempt, or approve it yourself.

Step 4 of 6 · Signing

Documents are signed in the app and come back as one PDF

You attach your own PDF to the requirement. The guest signs in the app and the signature is stored with the booking. Linkbase then builds a single PDF from your original, a cover page and the signature page.

Signing is built in, not handed to another e-signature vendor. You end up with one signed file instead of a form submission to reassemble.

Step 5 of 6 · In step

Change a rule and the bookings already on the calendar follow

Steps are not created once and forgotten. Linkbase adds the ones that are missing, remaps them when a property's requirements change, removes the ones that no longer apply, and clears out duplicates. Policy changes reach upcoming bookings, not only new ones.

Under the hood

Your screening setup is part of the fingerprint the booking sync already tracks, so a rule change is picked up on the next pass. Guards stop two passes from creating the same step twice.

Step 6 of 6 · Gate

Until it is done, guests stay on the steps page

Completion is worked out on our servers each time the guest's booking is fetched, never in the app, since an app can be stale or tampered with. Until every step is complete, the guest sees their steps instead of their stay details.
